Rzeszów Główny Railway Station

Rzeszów Główny (Polish for Rzeszów Main station) is a railway station in the southeastern Polish city of Rzeszów and the biggest of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship.

The first station in Rzeszów was built in 1858 on the newly constructed line from Kraków to Lwów.

In subsequent years, Rzeszów became a vital railway junction, with additional connections to Jasło (southbound) and Tarnobrzeg's district of Ocice (northbound).

The current complex was built after 1945. The retreating Russian Imperial troops destroyed the station during World War I. It was damaged again in 1944 by the Wehrmacht and rebuilt shortly after.

Since 2018 the station platforms have been undergoing an upgrade, scheduled to be completed in 2021.

The station offers connections to all significant Poland cities and Kyiv and Lviv.

Polish Railway System

The Polish State Railways have train connections with most Polish cities. Still, for long distances, there are usually one or more changes.

Usually, at least one direct train connection exists between Rzeszów and significant Polish cities. There are different categories of trains, but the time of the journey is relatively similar.

There are also direct services to Lviv, Odessa, and Kyiv in Ukraine. The connections and price can be checked on the website. Still, it is possible to buy online only tickets for selected trains (operated by PKP InterCity), InterCity, and TLK.

Tickets can be bought at the railway station. If you want to pay by credit or debit card, the first check is possible, and tell the card's payment to the cashier before you buy a ticket.

Alternatively, you should find an ATM at the railway station in the close vicinity. Discounts apply to qualified patrons.
